BARRINGTON - A boathouse housing all of the University of New Hampshire's sailing team's equipment was destroyed in a fire Wednesday evening.

The cause of the fire was still being investigated Wednesday night, but with no power running to the facility, Fire Chief Rick Walker said arson was a possibility. The state Fire Marshal's Office is expected to be on the site this morning.

A Barrington police K-9 and officer were on scene Wednesday night helping fire crews investigate.

The boathouse is at Mendum's Pond about a half mile off Hall Road.
