1) Sand first to remove dust nibs. Use P 1200 Finishing Discs and a D.A. Sander
2) Spray the work area and the disc with water.
3) With 40-50 PSI, until the scratches are removed and the surface seems semi-polished.
4) On fresh or soft clears, remove sand scratches with 3M Perfect-It 3000 Rubbing Compound. On cured or hard clears, use 3M Perfect-It 3000 Extra Cut Rubbing Compound.
5) To begin compounding, apply a small amount of compound to the surface.
6) Apply medium pressure to remove the sand scratches.
7) Next, use light pressure and work excess compound back into the pad.
8) Use a cloth to remove any remaining residue.
9) To remove swirl marks, use 3M Perfect-It 3000 Swirl Mark Remover.
10) Apply a small amount of the compound to the surface.
11) Again, begin with medium pressure to remove the swirl marks.
12) Then use light pressure at a speed of 1800 RPM to polish.
13) Afterwards, use a detailing cloth to remove any residue.
14) Finally, to remove any remaining swirls use 3M Ultrafina SE.
15) This compound should be applied in the same way as in the previous steps. However, it will leave behind a light oily film. This isi normal for Ultrafina SE.
16) Wipe clean with a detailing cloth.
